Forced.
Hey guys I am finally back from a relaxing cum shopping
madness Holiday, went to Thailand and like a normal girl went crazy with the
endless shopping streets and the super yum street food. Soon will share my
vacation details and some cool pictures on the blog. After coming back next
morning went straight to the theatre and watched the long due film Force 2. One
more sequel this month after Rock On 2, second edition of Force came out almost
after five years. John Abraham is back as the Psycho cum more powerful Mumbai
cop, Genelia (his wife) is seen in few flashes and looks like a girl next door.
Sonakshi Sinha plays the role of RAW agent as K.K aka Kamaljeet Kaur and Tahir
Raj Bhasin is seen playing the negative role in the film in the role of Shiv
and Rudra Pratap Singh.
Film as always opens up with full Bollywood style heroism
flaunting Yash’s body and action punching skills. Moving on to how his best
friend played by Freddy Daruwala who is also a RAW agent is killed in China.
Certain signs and proofs lead Yash to go to RAW officers and then an assignment
to find out same old villain who is a traitor. K.K is Yash’s partner in this
mission. They head to Budapest to find the Bad Guy and all the chase and run
begins. After a point the running car scenes get too long and predictable.
Finally there is some decoding happening and the reason for all the actions by
Shiv cum Rudra is revealed. Boman Irani is seen in a small role of Rudra’s
father who was also a RAW agent and was murdered and all this was a revenge for
his father’s murder and false accusations of being a traitor.
The message behind the film has a great meaning to it, but
fails to transfer it well to the audience. Action thriller genre director
Abhinay Deo who has directed films and also the famous Indian Television
series, 24, directs the film. Poor direction skills are quite obviously visible
through out the film. The villainous gestures of Shiv remind you of Joker from
Batman series. John looks quite repetitive like Dishoom, angry psycho poker
faced cop and not to forget our Martial arts queen who is back again doing Maar
Dhaad after Akira and has this weird relationship with Guns, I mean come on if
you are one of the best RAW agents how can you have gun phobia, Weird. Music
and Camera work of the film have nothing great to offer.
Costumes of the film are done by Zsófi Ferencz and Moiz
Kapadia. Being a RAW and Cop related film Costumes had to be quite simple and
recognizable. Yash was seen in tight fitted T-Shirts with regular cargos and
jeans in fixed muted browns and greys. Looks were layered with leather jackets
and army jackets with those woodland kind suede shoes. Hairstyle was pretty
regular John Abraham style, which he usually maintains. K.K was seen wearing
formal trousers with crisp fitted shirts and trench with boots. Eventually
which shifts to skinny jeans, v-neck tees and leather jackets. Asli Sona has
lost a lot of weight, which was quite visible, and she looked good with that
short hairstyle. I wish her make up was not too sharp, with those bright lips
and those contoured cheeks.
Shiv’s look again was quite simple as he played a hidden RAW
agent cum spy and tried to portray a complete regular life. Living in Europe,
one could see the influence with those consistent clothing with a hint of those
English checkered berets, jackets and mufflers and those nerd glasses.
Continuity bit of the film was pretty crucial as there were too long scenes and
major fight scenes. So make up and look was pretty well intact except for the
fact Sona Ma’am’s make up never came off and was perfect all the time.
Sometimes I really sit and wonder, Bollywood wants to create
realism in the films but fails miserably because of these minute details, which
really needs to be taken care of. There needs to be some balance between
Heroism and Realism to make the film work.
Now looking forward to Dear Zindagi by the English Vinglish
director Gauri Shinde, guys come back on Sunday for my views on it, till then
have a great weekend.
Love,
Cine Closet.
