Trolls Dolls.
Hi all, my sister and me went for Trolls this Friday. I was not much of a fan of animated films,
but my sister always forced me that lets go watch this film or that one, and I
used to be like why are you obsessed with animated films? She gave me the perfect
answer, For her these films not only made her relive her childhood but took her
to the whole new world which we know is non-existential but still teaches us
few of the most important life lessons of imagination, happiness and
togetherness. And not to forget those characters they create, just gives us an
insight about how creative one can get, from creating hairstyle to character
name to their voices to some super cool houses they live in, as soon as we see
all of it we secretly wish we were part of that world.
My Trolls Doll- Red Riding hood version. |
Trolls were anyways a special film for us, as we as kids had
gotten a chance to play with those wide-eyed dolls created by Thomas Dam.
Earlier when we were kids we didn’t have those fancy toy stores like Hamleys or
other big toy stores in India, which is literally every child’s dream, but my
aunt surely gave us glimpses of those toy stores, she always sent us some cool
dolls and toys, one of which was the troll doll. How much we have combed that
yellow hair don't even have the count of it. The film surely gave a taste of
nostalgia.
Trolls come from the Dreamworks team as Shrek and Alvin and
the Chipmunks. The film is about two worlds, one of trolls who are tiny, super
happy, fun, chirpy, giving hugs and lovable, but the other world has Bergens
who are bad and oversized and sad in life. But according to a myth created,
Bergens can be happy for a short while if they eat Trolls.
The journey of
Princess Poppy and her friend Branch begins to save the tribe of trolls. Their
journey is surely a sight to watch with all the imaginary creatures created,
when they finally make to Bergen’s town they come across the King Gristle and
scullery maid Bridget, my favourite character. After all the trial and errors,
efforts to spread happiness and finally getting rid of that evil chef they
manage to live in peace.
In animated films, the list of technical departments is
completely different. From character developer to voice development there are
so many different stages to build each character. Mike Mitchell and Walt Dohrn
have directed the film. Famous artists have dubbed voices for these cute tiny
creatures and also baddies. Here is the list of the primary cast:
1.
Poppy- Anna Kendick
2.
Branch- Justin Timberlake
3.
Bridget- Zooey Deschanel
4.
King Gristle- Christopher Mintz Plasse
5.
Chef- Christine Baranski
The soundtrack of the film was not so exciting, and the
journey covered new creatures but it gets a bit dabbed when we see love moments
of Branch and Poppy. Loved the beautiful colors in the film, and that
expandable hair in the most beautiful colors from Pink to orange to unicorn shades made me want all of them. The Sparkle Troll was my favourite, spreading
sparkles all around. The trolls were seen wearing simple and adorable frocks
and colorful striped shorts. Poppy’s floral headbands to other troll’s colorful
rubber bands were surely noticeable accessories on that colorful hairstyle.
Scullery maid Bridget’s revamped look in that retro jumpsuit and that
multicolored long tresses was too cool, and the best part is when she skates
around with the king.
There are surely certain moments that make you laugh and
then a few moments that make you go aww. The film gives a very short and sweet
message of Just be yourself. I am sure kids are already enjoying the film in
the theatre and parents of course are around them. But guys if you’ll miss your
childhood days and want to share some fun moments, you all can once in a while
go for a fun animated film and dig in the tub of fresh caramel and cheese
popcorn.
Love,
Cine Closet.
